The Adriatic-Ionian Transnational Programme has launched a public consultation on the Environmental Report in connection with the Operational Programme. The consultation will be open until 22nd September 2014.

Overview

According to Art. 6 of the ERDF Regulation the Adriatic-Ionian Operational Programme 2014-2020 for European Territorial Cooperation has to undertake a strategic environmental assessment in line with the SEA directive (2001/42/EC). The Strategic Environmental Assessment foresees the preparation of an draft Environmental Report and a consultation of the report. The Environmental Report identifies, describes and evaluates the likely significant effects on the environment of the Adriatic Ionian Operational Programme (AIOP) and provides reasonable alternatives and how effects can be reduced or offset. The Report together with the non-technical summary is a key part of a process of the strategic environmental assessment (SEA).

The Environmental Report for consultation is based on the 1st draft Operational programme issued at the 9th July 2014.

Consulting details

The consultation process will take place between 22.7.2014 and 22.9.2014 10:00 CET.

The Managing Authority as well as the Task force members of the AIOP will take consultation responses into account and will then issue a revised Environmental Report together with the AIOP to the European Commission.
