Danube-INCO.NET first year of activities

Danube-INCO.NET is a project funded under FP7 as a coordination and support action for the official EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), and particularly in the field of research and innovation (R&I).

The Danube-INCO.NET project is funded under FP7 as a coordination and support action for the official EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), and particularly in the field of research and innovation (R&I).  It focuses however mainly on only two of the EUSDR priority areas: PA 7 'Knowledge Society' and PA 8 'Competitiveness'.  Danube-INCO.NET is carried out by 19 organisations, under the coordination of the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI), and finally seeks to overcome the obstacles hindering the social and economic development of the Danube region which is one of the most diverse in Europe, in terms of economic strengths and research and innovation systems and profiles, and home to over 100 million residents. The project therefore supports the policy dialogue, creates networks, and analyses and supports R&I activities with the objective to ensure that events, publications and policy recommendations related to R&I cooperation in the Danube Region may reach an audience as broad as possible, and interested and engaged in the future macro-regional development of the Danube Region.
